Historical Match on Monday, July 4

For the first time in the history of this game, we have a true grudge match. Here is a portion of Wasim's email that made this match a reality:

I suggest a contest between under 30 (white) vs over 30 (dark)

I remember there being more to it when I read it originally, but it is what it is. Many large events started with a simple sentence. World War II, for example.

Hope you can make it!

Weekend games?

Never before in our storied history have we experienced a mix of cold and snow for such an extended period of time. We have had an unprecedented 3 week gap in games during this 2009 - 2010 season. I am posting this to gauge interest in matches this weekend.

My recommendation is to skip Saturday, but play Sunday at 3pm.

Please let me know your thoughts and, if possible, leave a comment if you are interested in playing on Sunday. I will post something here on Sunday before leaving for SMW if the game is on, or earlier if it is apparent that there is not enough interest to get in a match.

Of course I am always available via phone, text, or email (send me an email if you don't have my phone number and want it):

Welcome

This blog was created for information regarding the Youngs Park pickup soccer games.

The game first began in late 2000. The match has been played at various locations throughout the greater Kansas City area, but is most identified with Youngs Park.

A running list of ongoing kick-arounds will display on the right. One-off matches will have a special designation and will not show up on the running board.

I hope you will find this blog helpful. Please let me know if you have any suggestions about the site, and always feel free to comment on any of the posts. It is possible to comment without joining Blogger or signing up anywhere. For best results, if you are posting using the anonymous feature, please let me know who you are. Thank you!
