Special Matches this Week

Please join us for our annual Thanksgiving match at 9am on the upper field at Shawnee Mission North. We will also be playing Friday morning at 9, in addition to our regular matches on Saturday and Sunday. Hope to see you there!

ONE TIME FIELD CHANGE - Sat. Oct. 12 SMW

This coming Saturday, Shawnee Mission North will be hosting a district band competition. We will move our game to the soccer field at Shawnee Mission West along Antioch, just north of 85th St. If this field is not available, I will send an email to the group and we will move to the Middle School at 75th & Quivera.

Games resume fully at SMN

While no formal agreement is in place, there is a general understanding that our group does not fit within the guidelines of one that requires a permit. That being said, we have to be very vigilant in our use of the facility. If an organized group approaches the field, we must vacate immediately. We cannot argue, and we cannot request to use part of the field they have rented. This is very, very important! We have enjoyed a terrific relationship with North. They have been very good to us over the years.

All games moving to Maple Hills Park

For the foreseeable future, all matches are moving to Maple Hills Park (85th & Switzer).

Wednesdays moving to Maple Hills Park

Due to field usage at Shawnee Mission North High School, we will be moving the Wednesday game to Maple Hills Park. The game will continue to kick off at 5:30. No other games will be affected by this change.

No game Saturday, Feb. 23

Tom checked out the fields at both North & West. Sadly, neither field will be playable tomorrow. With 40 degree temps and rain, the hope is that North will be ready to go on Sunday.

Another match canceled due to poor field conditions. A thin layer of ice is now on top of the snow that fell on Friday.

Due to better field conditions at Shawnee Mission West, we will move the 3:30pm game there today only.

Saturday, Feb. 9 only: kickoff 2pm at SMW

Tom checked the fields this morning and believes we can get a game in this afternoon. There is a lot of ice on the fields at Shawnee Mission North so we will be moving the game to Shawnee Mission West. The field is on the east side of the school that runs along Antioch as it approaches 85th Street.

This is a one time change in both location and time.

One-off time change - 2pm Sunday, Feb. 3

With the Super Bowl kicking off around 5:30, it has been requested that we begin our game earlier this Sunday.

No game Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019

With a layer of snow, then freezing rain and additional blowing snow, there will be no game today. Stay tuned for word on the remaining matches scheduled for this weekend.

Sunday matches

The Sunday games will now be on the upper fields. The gates to the main entrance have been locked the last few weeks. Also Tom can pull the nets closer to the field on the upper level.

Please keep in mind the games start at 3:30p. Starting closer to 4p doesn’t leave much time for playing given the early sunset. So we absolutely want everyone there so we can begin closer to 3:30p.
